Yellow Wagtail, Grass and Common Green Lacewing.
Created as part of a body of work examining the increasing list of endangered birds.
The Yellow Wagtail is a summer visitor to the UK, and spends the rest of its year in Africa. Favouring meadows and farmland, the Yellow Wagtail spends much of its time running about on the ground, chasing insects disturbed by the feet of livestock.
Yellow Wagtails are in severe decline, with the latest BBS figures revealing a 43% reduction between 1995 and 2012. Wagtails nest on the ground in long grasses, and so it is thought that changes in agricultural practices have driven this decline.
